The cost of Elementor Pro vs the free version: Is it worth it?

elementor-free-vs-elementor-pro

Elementor is a popular page builder plugin that has both free and pro versions. The question of “Is elementor pro worth it?” is often asked, but the answer isn’t as clear-cut as one might think. In this blog post, we will compare the two versions to see what features are available in each and how much they cost to use per month or year.  The pro version of Elementor costs US$49 per annum for 1 website.

The Elementor free version has all the necessary features for a basic website, such as adding images and text to your page, making changes in colour and size of elements. The pro version is more advanced with many more options available on top of what’s already included in the free one.

As you can see the pro version has a lot more widgets available than the free one – and new ones are being added all the time with updates to the plugin. The pro version also offers many more templates that come as part of your subscription, which not only may save you money but makes it easier for people who aren’t designers to create beautiful pages quickly. The pro version also allows you to create your own theme.

The main things I missed from Elementor Pro whilst building this free website are as follows:

  • Page templates
  • template shortcodes
  • Headers/footers
  • Dynamic content
  • Global Widget

Some of these differences can be overcome by installing additional design plugins – however, one does need to be cautious about installing these as it appears quite common that conflicts arise when there are too many similar functioning plugins.

In the end, it is up to you whether or not the pro version of Elementor is worth it. It really depends on how much time and effort you want to put into your site design. The pro version does a lot of the hard lifting for you – what I missed most about the pro version when building this website was the following:
